I am a harsh critic when it comes to restuarants and service. Stonewood Tavern is far from perfect but for the Jacksonville scene it is a breath of fresh air. This restaurant is a chain but doesn't have that cheesy feel that some of the other nationally chained restaurants have. All the food is of a high quality and is served professionally. A good selection of standard ""Americanized"" dishes are on the menu. Wine list is ok. But the reason I like this place is that there is no ""we're a good restaurant so you should feel priviledged to be here"" attitude. Stonewood is what it is. Casual upscale dining with a pleasant atmosphere. No loud music. No annoying customers. And just expensive enough to exclude most people so it makes it a bit more intimate. I haven't visited it on Saturday night but every other night has been pretty good so far. I recommend this place for any type of casual event or special occasion for yourself and 2-4 people. FYI, happy hour here ends at 7:00 and begins again at 10:00.
Pros: Casual but nice.
Cons: None.
