When we tried all over Portland to get a table for Valentine's day, and discovered that none could be found except a couple at odd hours that were grossly overpriced, I discovered the Equinox online. The owner took my call. He was charming and conversational, explaining that he disapproved of gouging customers on holidays. We tried it out, and our meals were not only creative and delicious, but everything was beautiful - including the cocktails. Valentine's Day is a very busy one for restaurants, but the server was helpful and courteous, and our courses arrived at a steady pace. We're going again this Friday for our anniversary.
