I'm a professional who moved to the area about 9 months ago. I thought I would save some money by living in Salinas and this place looked great when I first visited. My lease is about to expire and I cannot wait to move. The police were outside again tonight breaking up yet another fight. Somebody else called them tonight but I have called them 3 times in the past 2 months for fights and suspicious activity. There are security gates at the complex but they are usually broken and people from the surrounding area wander through, rummaging through the dumpsters and hanging out at the pools. The workout room is never cleaned and is heavily vandalized by the groups of teen thugs who hang out in there. The office staff is extremely rude and unresponsive. Maintenance staff have entered my apartment many times with out letting me know. My apartment was flooded in November from the apartment upstairs and it was never fully repaired. I often read these reviews and think the people who post them are just whiners but this is truly the worst apartment experience I have ever had. Do not move here!
Pros: Monterey is only half an hour away.
Cons: The rude staff, noisy cars and neighbors, dirty facilities, unrepaired vandalism, exposure to criminal elements, constantly broken security gates, and general unsafe environment.
