I've been here a number of times and had some reasonably good food and some not so good food. \r

I went in recently for the first time in a while. A big problem is uncleanliness. I asked for two glasses of water and the cashier gave them to me while holding the glasses from the top, with fingers around the parts that you drink from. This made me realize that it's best to serve customers glasses by holding them from the bottom. And then the food came. Now I realize why most places bring food out on serving trays. The server didn't use a serving tray and was carrying the plate in such a way that her finger was touching my food! This didn't wet my appetite.\r

There's a sign saying that a 10% tip is appreciated, but this place is pretty much a self-serve cafeteria. The waiters/waitresses bring out food, but don't take orders and don't seem to wait on customers. And we had to wait a while to order, even though there wasn't much of a line. It seems a bit silly to ask customers to pay 10% tips. I recommend the owner pay the waiters/waitresses more. \r

The rice was dry and not very good (not what one would expect at a Japanese restaurant) and the food was alright. \r

Good points are the atmosphere. I like the building and the decorations. Some of the food is good and some isn't. The tempura and gyoza are pretty good. The okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza-like pancakes) is the worst that I've ever had. \r
