On May I stumbled into Dr. Zaniewski-Singh's office using a cane to keep myself from falling.   Earlier in the week, I had purchased a walker.    I was ""drunk and crazy"" more often than not, and had trouble finishing a sentence.   My legs were horribly swollen.   I had been to a cardiologist, and apparently had no circulation problems.    Dr. Z had me take glucose readings at specific times for  week.    On May 16, I came back with the data, and she prescribed a medicine that contains an hormone that makes insulin work.    AFTER ONE INJECTION IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD FLIPPED ON A LIGHT SWITCH IN MY HEAD!!!!!!   After a couple of weeks of steadily gaining strength, she also did a thyroid biopsy and now I have been taking a replacement for that hormone also.    I have a long way to go to gain my strength back, BUT I'M GETTING STRONGER EVERY DAY!!!!!
