Tabu is a joke. It's basically your typical formula for an upscale lounge: expensive drinks + a steep cover charge + pretentious staff + nothing unique or special (no good view, average dj, no good lighting) = this place. Plus, there is nowhere to sit unless you want to order bottle service for $400 a bottle. There were tons of empty tables so we sat at one, and then a tool bouncer kicked us out saying "the group who reserved this table just showed up." Ironically, the table remained empty for the rest of the night. I guess it's just their scam to try and manipulate you to order bottle service for $400 a bottle because the $20 cover charge and $10 drinks multiplied by the 4 people in our group was not enough money being spent to justify letting us sit. Furthermore, the VIP cards a promotoer gave my group at the MGM pool that day only work for girls. I went to the club with 3 extremely good looking girls and they still made me pay cover. Plus, there were a lot more guys than girls. The guys there were mostly sleazy used car salesmen types and scared the few hot girls in the club off with their pathetic pick up lines. Overall, this club is nothing special and a waste of money. There are MUCH better options in Vegas (ie Tao, Body English, Moon). The only reason I went in the first place was because we had free passes which weren't free for guys. I would never go back.
Pros: we were staying in the MGM so location was a pro. Otherwise nothing
Cons: staff, junior varsity crowd, more expensive than great vegas clubs
