This has to be the worst experience I've ever had in Austin. We went to dinner on Friday night with our very quiet and well behaved 3 year old. We were seated and the waiter immediately wanted to take our order. We stated that we needed some time to review the menu and then he asked about appetizers. He suggested the artichoke heart dish. I ordered the grapefruit coctail which was good. After a short time he brought the appetizer and wanted to take our order. I couldn't help but wonder if we were being rushed because we had a child with us even though she hadn't made a peep. My husband asked about the quail and he said he didn?t recommend it, which we appreciated. The only problem was that he recommended the burger. Since we didn?t want a burger, he had a more difficult time with the selections. If this is a burger joint, then don?t have other items on the menu. The artichoke hearts were over seasoned and mediocre. In 5 minutes...no joke...our food arrives. The waiter wanted my wine order but I only had my coctail for 10 minutes and had most of it left. I ordered the trout salad. It was also mediocre...it was so heavy on the lemon rind I could barely taste the trout. My daughter?s grilled cheese arrived 3 minutes after ours and the cheese wasn?t even melted. The only good thing about the experience is that we didn't pay for it because it was a gift certificate given to us by a friend. The manager wouldn?t allow us to pay the tip out of the gift certificate so we still have money left...I guess this forces you to go back. I'll only be going back for wine because the food is a complete waste of money. It's a shame this is in our neighborhood because there are so many amazing restaurants in this city but this is NOT one of them. I'm not sure how they've stayed in business this long.
Pros: Grapefruit Coctail
Cons: Food, service, ambience & overall experience
