I can't say I agree with the previous reviews. I'm not a local, but a sometime visitor to the Truckee area: on a previous trip a few years ago, I did indeed have a less-than-stellar experience, but I decided, seeing that the place is still in business to give it another try. The sushi chefs told me that Java had recently come under new mangement and I thought it showed - they were friendly and helpful and made me the best vegetarian rolls I've ever had, and I've eaten sushi in many, many places across the globe. They were inventive and fresh and didn't limit my options to a choice of avocado, cucumber, or both. I don't go in all the time, and it was fairly quiet the night I was there, but I would eat there again gladly.
Pros: Great fresh sushi - especially the vegetarian rolls!
