I know some restaurants choose not to take reservations for some reason - maybe it adds to the 'mystique' of a place, who knows. But if you're not going to take them, at least be honest with people when they call ahead. I tried to go last night with a couple of friends and the host I'd spoken to earlier that day informed me that they did not take reservations, but there shouldn't be much of a wait because wednesdays aren't crowded. We got there and there was an hour and a half wait. Really disappointing because my friends had driven in from out of the city, so it unnecessarily complicated our evening. They've got good food - I've been there before - but that kind of disrespect is just unnecessary.
