I've been to House of Prime Rib, Morton's, Watergate, and now finally Ruth's Chris. The experience was disappointing. The atmosphere was dead and the food did not live up to par. Everything is ala carte and expensive. Expensive is fine if the quality reflects so, but it sure didn't taste like a $45 steak. My medium rare steak tasted no better than the one I ate at the Outback. It was just dry and hard to swallow. I didn't find the sizzling butter on my plate too entertaining. The high temperature of the plate combined with the butter cooked the steak more than what I wanted. The shrimp appetizer is $12 for 5 pieces and this is for regular size shrimp. A plain baked potato is $10 and the wine list is where they make the big bucks. A bottle of wine that you can get at the corner store for $10 cost more than a steak at this place. Don't waste your time with the caramel pie because it tasted ultra sweet. Brace yourself because the price tag is steep. So far, nothing has topped my experience at the House of Prime Rib. Now that's what I call a mouth watering, melts in your mouth steak.
Pros: friendly waiter
Cons: bad quality steak
