Not recommending Dr. Ari Brown 3/15/2007

We were not pleased with Dr. Brown at all. Our infant broke out into a horrible rash that quickly spread all over our infant's body. We brought our child in to see Dr. Brown. She looked at the rash for a few seconds and said it was baby acne. I had read about baby acne prior to the appointment and was not convinced this was what our child had. I took our baby to a pediatric dermotologist and allergist. Both of them said that our baby was having a bad reaction to the formula they were on. Dr. Brown told usat a previous appointment that our baby had a milk protein allergy and recommended that we switch from breast milk to a formula made for infants with this type of allergy. We had asked if we could try soy formula but she stated that if infants have a milk protein allergy they typically will also be allergic to soy. The pediatric dermotologist and allergist both said that the formula that Dr. Brown had us giving our child still had milk proteins in it but they were very broken down. Our child was reacting to it and the rash was the outcome. Our new pediatrician recommended that we switch to soy. Since having done so, our baby has been doing wonderfully for months since the switch and days after switching to soy the rash was gone. We do not feel that Dr. Brown took the time to really analyze the rash. The appointment was very rushed and all appointments that we had with her, Dr. Brown made us feel as though our questions were stupid. She was not a sympathetic Dr. and we always felt as though we were wasting her time with her demeanor. more
