Gag! I will never return. We sat upstairs in the only no-smoking area. I asked the waitress which was better, the fish tacos or a combo plate. She replied she had never eaten fish tacos. After a 45-minute wait for our food (there was only one other couple seated in the dining room) we were served lukewarm--not hot--food, though we were cautioned to be careful of the hot plate. I love fish tacos and these were the lousiest I've ever had. The plate was mostly filled with shredded cabbage. The fish was overcooked and the plate had sat so long that the moisture had soaked through the three tiny uncooked corn tortillas, rendering them into mush. Eating the rice, my teeth crunched on something gritty. After removing the offensive matter, I saw sand in my napkin. My companion's fajitas were greasy but edible (though it was mostly onions). He ordered ""Red Cajun"" potatoes as his side. He was served a plate with two small, baked, unspiced potatoes (looked like Yukon Gold potatoes). He questioned if they were really the Cajun potatoes. The waitress returned the plate to the kitchen then brought back the same plate and said the cook didn't respond. ?? The waitress was never did find the pitcher for ice tea refills. She knew we were unhappy and no manager seemed to be available. Her cheeky response was ""Sorry y'all were disappointed."" I hope she wasn't disappointed in her tip! Yes, we tipped but not our usual, generous percentage (hey, we've worked in restaurants). This may be a good place to go sit and drink, but not to eat. The staff did seem more interested in those quaffing down beers quickly. Houston offers enough other restaurants so no need to return here. Pros: Can get a table quickly during the dinner rush Cons: The Health Dept should check out the Ladies Room more
