surprisingly fun 3/25/2007

I was tentative about going here on a Saturday night after reading these reviews but I have to say it was a pretty good time. It is in an odd location - I know people who go here for after work but hadn't really heard of people going here on the weekends. Overall though I thought it was a pretty good time - I spent less than 5 minutes waiting outside and the bar was crowded when we got in but not so crowded that you couldn't move around. The only dissappointment was that they didn't really seem to play any rock music. They had hip-hop dance music downstairs and top 40 stuff playing upstairs with an occassional rock song. Even that wouldn't have been bad except that the djs seemed to be playing an excessive amount of 90s throwback songs - a few now and then are fun but after a while I felt like I was in a time warp where nothing after 2002 existed. My friends and I decided to try the place for the rock music thinking it would be something different than every other bar in the area but they didn't really seem to live up to their name. Even if they weren't going to have live rock bands it would be cool if at least the upstairs played actual rock music and maybe they could even highlight a lot of lesser known bands and local stuff - there really isn't a good place that does that in the area so it's clearly a niche that could be filled. Pros: no cover, no lines, good atmosphere Cons: no rock music, djs were not great more
