The Bull&Bear is the best place on the west side to grab a Guinness and some honest-to-goodness Irish grub. We've been going since they opened, and we have never been disappointed. Yes, it's a bit smoky, but it IS a bar. The dining section is separated from the entertainment section by a wall, and the bar with its *magnificent* selection of draught beers is almost the length of the establishment. The waitstaff have always been pleasant and are usually quick as well. The early crowd can be a bit geriatric, but that's simply a testament to the quality and price of the beer and food, I think. I mean, you just can't beat $3 pints of Guinness! I would definitely put this place on your list of must-visit pubs.
Pros: huge beer selection, bartender knows how to pull a Guinness properly, good Irish food
Cons: gets smoky when it's crowded
