Angus Barn provided myself and dinner companion with a comfortable atmosphere. I did not encounter a pretentious wait staff, which is often the case in fine dining establishments. While the pre-meal environment and experience was very pleasant and enjoyable, when my food arrived I was less than impressed. My girlfriend and I both had steak. She had filet, I a NY Strip. She enjoyed hers, I thought mine was OK. Coming into the experience, I understood that half of the meal ticket was associated with the environment, but where did the rest of my money go?! The steak was prepared properly, cooked to the requested temperature (MR), but lacked flavor. It tasted like a steak I could have prepared for 1/5 of the cost. So, while my experience was pleasant, the food left me unimpressed. This steak doesn't make my top 5 in Raleigh, let alone the Triangle. The Angus Barn sells you a high end luxury car, but sneaks in an economic underwhelming motor . It has a beautiful finish, and makes you feel great while you are in it, proudly displaying it to all of your friends (environment, experience). The Accord Motor is reliable, and very functional, but does not have the performance you would expect for the price tag (food). Bottom Line: you're paying for the environment, not food.
Pros: Great Environment, Scenery, Friendly Staff
Cons: Food lacks ""mmph""
