I've been a member of Curves until a couple of months ago and during that time I visited several locations. In my opinion, the location on Grand is the worst location and you should go to a different location if possible. First, this location is very small, cramped, smelly and not as clean as others. Second, the staff is not as helpful and enthusiastic as at other locations. Typically, Curves staff will encourage those working out and will keep an eye on you to make sure your form is correct and that your motivation is going strong. Here, the one staff member on duty does nothing but talk on the phone to her friends and barely acknowledges you. There is no interaction and that's a shame, because that's one of the things you're paying for. At other locations, staff knows your name, knows your fitness plan and there's more personal attention (which justifies the expensive dues). Third, their hours are not very convenient - not open on the weekends, and the last workout is at 6:30 p.m., making it difficult to get there on time if you have to change at the location. Other locations have MUCH better hours. MOST IMPORTANTLY, be careful of the cancellation policy. More than TWO MONTHS after I officially cancelled, they charged me another $100 for a cancellation fee. BE CAREFUL! Curves is already pretty expensive as it is. But you should definitely not pay the dues for this location. Although I like the Curves workout, this location is NOT worth the money.
