I moved to the bay area a couple months ago and was looking for a quiet, welcoming restaurant with great food and service. Platano meets all of these criteria. The food is wonderful! The restaurant has El Salvadorean artwork hanging on the walls and is spacious and clean. It is very refreshing to find such authentic El Salvadorean food in such a great location. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try someplace new. I get the sopa de res every time. It is a beef soup with a variety of vegetables in a mint flavoered broth. It is enough to serve two people, although we also usually order the pupusas and the plantains for dessert.
