Went in Saturday morning at 10:00 AM with 7 knifes to be sharpened. No customers were in the store. Just a lone guy in the back who ignored us for a few minutes before he finally came out into the front area to ask ""what do you want?"". I said I had some knifes I wanted sharpened... Some Henckel kitchen knives of various sizes and my favorite pocket knife. He started writing out a ticket and without asking simply wrote wrote ""4:00"" on the bottom. I stopped him and said I didn't want to pick them up at 4PM... I would wait for them to be sharpened. The reply I received was ""It's not gonna happen"". I picked up my knifes and walked back out the front door returning the place to it's previously empty state. Stopping briefly with my wife to admire the large sign (takes up entire left window) that says ""KNIVES SHARPENED WHILE YOU WAIT"". We debated the possible interpretations of ""While you wait"" in the terms of the customer service (term obviously used loosely) we had just experienced. Our conclusion was that ""while you wait"" really means ""while you wait for them to do it whenever they get around to doing it"". Bottom line... I'd rather have dull knives. Pros: You get it done when they want to do it. Cons: You get it done when they want to do it. more
