I visited Saffire alone on a Sunday evening around 6 p.m., and the place was nearly deserted. I asked the bartender to recommend his favorite small plate, and was amazed by the most sensational roast pork I've ever eaten. The tamarind BBQ sauce sounds trendy, but tasted--quite simply--perfect. The pineapple martini was both refreshing and potent.
