My husband and I had a disappointing dining experience at Everest. The wine list is impressive, but there is not a full size bottle of wine for under $100. I think this is a bit pretentious. I agree with the other writer who said the service was rushed. In addition, the waiters' and the ambience were a bit too stuffy for our tastes. The lighting was too bright and my husband and I sat too far away from eachother. We both had the pre-symphony dinner. The amuse bouche was excellent. Unfortunately, all that followed was not. The crab salad was extremely bland. We both had beef. Neither one of us was asked how we would like our meat cooked. It came well done. Why serve a great piece of meat well done??? The sides were extremely over salted. I could not even finish my entree. The dessert was a carrot cake. I've had better out of vending machines. Our bill came to $300.00. The food did not match up to the beautiful presentation on the plate. We will NEVER go back. I've had better fine dining experiences in Chicago (try Tru or Aruns). Bottom line, if you want to feel robbed, go to Everest.
Pros: parking, food presentation
Cons: appetizer was bland, entree oversalted, not romantic, lighting too bright, stuffy
