I am amazed this place has made it as long as it did. We went the first time on a Fri nite to celebrate a birthday. We were curious about the concept, and also curious when we sat down and the place was near dead on a Fri nite in ""posh"" Birmingham ( we should have realized right there) While the interior was beautifully done up and the location was great within walking distance to the Pallidum, coffee houses, shops etc, the food was another story I will never forget. The cuts of meat are quite possibly the worst thing we have ever had and for 36.00 is just beyond imagination! The turkey was wrapped in heart attack artery clogging fat that cooked into the meat and had gross pineapple on it. Each cut of meat was worse than the one before it. The meats came out very undercooked and almost rare!! I am not a fan of Old Country Buffet or Ponderosa but their quality of meat is SOO far superior to this, and thats not saying much. The service also isnt up to standards for this price class. The servers are quite friendly but forgot our dipping sauces until nearly the end of the meal as well as they forget to bring some of the meat selections and were confused what we had already had and did not. They also walked by the ""green card"" on the table and didnt bring any meat out. We had to ask repeatedly for more rolls and some plates never got cleared the whole time. Forgiveable in a cheaper restaureant or one that was shorthanded or really crowed but there was barely ten tables full in the place when we got there and when we left!!! With the current economy in Michigan and the competitive restaurant business I cant see how this place will make it without improving the quality of the meat and upgrading their ""Ponderosa"" salad bar. Birmingham may have its fair share of wealthy residents but surely people arent stupid. I hope to save others plenty of their hard earned money that I wasted for this place.
Pros: nice location, beautiful interior, neat concept
Cons: food quality, ABSURD prices, not great service
