I have been a fan of Paolo Catini and Basso Est on the lower east side for some time now and so I was very excited to hear that he would be opening a new restaurant uptown very close to where I live. I have been there three times now and each time is better than the last. I Love the Room! It is such an imaginative and creative solution to the traditional New York long narrow ground floor space. The finishes are clean, textural and light, and the space feels spacious and yet accessible and familiar. I particularly like the raw soft wood columns and wine display. Where can I get some of that for my apartment?
