Im going to stop referring to restaurants in Nolita as Restaurants all they seem to be lately are Social Hangouts with terrible portions and overpriced food with a good name for no reason.I have lived here for over a year and spend all my time going to other hoods for dinner.
Aside from Habana and Maybe 24 Prince they are all the same. From Ruby's to Bread.
Chock full of People who think they are New Yorkers without the slightest Idea of what a new yorker wants.
Bread was just the worst i have ever had.Went their with friends with average expectations and was more than disappointed.First of all when we finally sat down to order we spent 20 mins looking at their scant menu and decided. So of course we order it and they do not have it and are out of it..lol
No big deal it happens right? Wrong
THE NEXT TWO THINGS WE ORDERED THEY DID NOT HAVE ON THE MENU EITHER AFTER WE SPENT ANOTHER 5 MINS DECIDING..
You would think the waitress would be smart enough to tell us that as soon as we sat down or as soon as they did not have the first thing we ordered..NOPE
She was just a face and made no apology whatsoever and made it seem like it was our fault they did not have what we wanted. When i say the worst waitress i have had in years im not exaggerating in the slightest. So I made the safe choice and ordered a Bread Sandwich..
UM WOW My italian grandmother makes sandwiches that knock these out of the park.
So between that and my 8oz 4.00 coke that was WARM i had to leave this girla .75 cents tip because she sucked.im usually a 20% tipper no problem and i love great service and love wait staff with sparkling personalites who know that a tip is not just a given.
The place is just another trash hipster place posing as a restaurant. All 4 of us hated the food and thought it was garbage. You want some real italian??
Go to La Foccaceria on Macdougal they will knowck your socks off.
This place is for Jackkoffs who dont know they are jackoffs.
Pros: NONE WHATSOEVER EXCEPT THE OLIVE OIL WAS OK AND LOCATIONS
Cons: Too many to List....SERIOUSLY TOO MANY
