I hailed a taxi on 2nd Ave. near the Space Needle to go to the Starbucks on Olive & Denny way. I got in and the man was having a heated discussion on his cell. He starts yelling in another language and finally hangs up, huffs and puffs while I sit silent, but questioning why he's heading all the way down to PIKE STREET when he could have just taken Denny straight up the hill. Then, I realized why...as we sat RED LIGHT AFTER RED LIGHT with the meter ticking away. Finally, at the Convention Center I asked why we didn't go up Denny...he then starts yelling at ME saying, ""See, all you guys ALWAYS do this to me...start arguing everything."" At that point I say with some sarcasm--I wasn't arguing, just asking and SUGGESTING it. He then goes on to rant and ramble a bunch of BS about how it was MY FAULT for not telling him--to which I responded that HE WAS DRIVING AND SHOUTING ON HIS CELL PHONE--then saying that he didn't KNOW about that route--just after he told me he'd been driving cab for 12 yrs in Seattle--and then, that PEOPLE LIKE GOING THIS WAY. Well, when we stopped the fare was $8.30 to go 3/4 mile!! He turned around with a threatening look, demeanor then chillingly calm and demanded full fare. I reluctanly gave--only b/c I feared what he might do--and then he wasn't going to give me change!! I told him I would wait til he found it then at which point he pulls out 1.75 and threw it back at me. I left and WILL NEVER EVER use YELLOW CAB CO. AGAIN! Car #490 for those who care...beware!
