I was looking for an affordable salon where I could get my legs waxed somewhere close to UCSB and Artistic Nails and Spa in Goleta fit these criteria. When I spoke with them on the phone, they said that a full leg wax would cost me $40. Upon arriving I was hurriedly taken to small waxing room and told to get on the waxing bed. When I asked about the prices again, the lady replied that a half leg was costs $25 dollars and therefore a full leg wax would cost about twice as much, she said $45, I give you a $5 discount. Of course, hearing the price suddenly increase by $5 was not a pleasant surprise, but since I was desperate for a wax, I silently accepted. Midway through the waxing, two things happened. First, the wax ran out, so I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the next batch of wax to heat up, lying there in a compromising position. Second, the lady got a personal phone call and talked on her phone throughout the wax. When she told me that she was done I noticed that she left nearly a quarter of my leg unwaxed, she just forgot to do it. Then when I explained that I also wanted her to wax the top of my foot and the toes, she told me that she would charge me an EXTRA $5 for each foot, since the feet were not part of my legs. Eventually with the tip and everything, this wax cost me $60; that is $20 more than I expected. I FELT RIPPED OFF and PROVIDED WITH A SHODDY SERVICE. And for this reason, I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE GOING THERE unless you want to feel this way.
