Based on all the buzz about Volterra, I went here for a fancy dinner... and I hate to say it, but I didn't see what all the fuss is about. Our polenta appetizer WAS completely tasty and they have nice cocktails (though some are much too sweet), but I found the rest of the meal wanting something. My husband's wild boar was cooked perfectly but doused in a cream sauce which I thought was bizarre, and my pesto fettucine tasted mostly like cream. We didn't have wine with dinner, but our server kept trying to push it every chance he got, to the point of being annoying. For the price, I'd rather satisfy my Italian cravings elsewhere.
Pros: Nice outdoor patio, some tasty cocktails
Cons: Expensive, overbearing waitstaff
