King Yum has been filling the tummies of northeast Queens since the Eisenhower administration. This place is an icon of the combination plate/family dinner Cantonese specials. Generations have been nourished on their egg rolls, spare ribs, fried rice, shrimp and lobster sauce, chow mein, etc. Not to mention having imbibed on countless cocktails with colorful umbrellas. The old standard fares well in the new century. Stick to the basics and you won't be disappointed. In a world that is swamped with all new fusions of Asian gastronomic fare, it is comofting to rfeturn to the comfort Chinese food of our youth...and no one does that better than King Yum.
