I should have listened to last week's post. I took my parents to Thalassa for their 35th anniversary last night. The food was very good. And they brought out a warm chocolate cake with a candle in it for my parents - which was a nice touch.
But we specifically chose Thalassa for the $35 restaurant week all summer long special. It's shown on the menu as a 3 course price fix. But instead of the menu of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 3 desserts to choose from - as per their website - the waiter said it would be a greek salad followed by grouper over calamari risotto with a phyllo custard dessert thing. As luck would have it, we all liked these and thus were all fairly happy with ordering the 3 course $35 price fix. But it was surprising and disappointing that the menu was not what was shown on the website - and frankly a bait and switch tactic just angers me on principle.
Pros: good food, nice atmosphere
Cons: slow service with unattentive waiters, no truth in advertising
