Tamarind tree is hidden in the back of a rather funky parking lot in the International District. This helps to keep it slightly secret. Once you make it in the door, you'll be suprised at what a beautiful place it is. Drinks are carefully crafted and include things like Ginger Cosmopolitans, Lemongrass Martinis and Tam's Mojito. Food is delicious, although I woudn't be sure that it was ""authentic"" Vietnamese, that's not important because the flavors are wonderful. I recommend the boneless fish broiled in coconut milk which comes in its own little container. Also, for appetizer the Tamarind tree rolls are great. I usually go on a Monday night because if you go on the weekend, you'll be waiting for a table.
Pros: Tasty, different, obscure location
Cons: Parking
