I see here that many people have had difficutly with the service at Helmand and I am no exception. I have been to Helmand several times and service is truly hit or miss. The last time I was there, in April, we had a new waitress who was much more attentive than past servers. I was happy to think that perhaps the management is trying to clean up their act on the service front. However, the food will always bring me back, along with the fantastic setting. This is a fabulous place for a date with a decent wine list and very reasonable prices on apps and main courses. It's super easy to park but also extremely easy to get to by both the green (Lechemere) and red (Kendall/MIT) lines.
Just be prepared to wait a while for your check or to order, as service can be slow and unapologetic.
