I have been to Volterra on several occasions. I have to say, it just keeps getting better. The addition of the Wine Steward (David?) was a nice touch because he is always able to recommend a great wine in my price range. Even after my first visit they recognized me when I returned and now greet me by name and I've been there less than 6 times.
I love the diverse crowd at Volterra: young, old, people dressed in jeans to business suits to those dressed for a night on the town. My company had our holiday party at Volterra in Dec and everyone said it was the best party we've had.
The food is spectacular (Wild Boar, Pasta with Truffles, Kobe Beef Sirloin, Wild Mushroom Polenta are favorites) and service friendly, skilled and efficient. They deserve all of the kudos they've received.
