I ate at Yangming for the first time today, since I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket. I was pleasantly surprised. While the food was very Americanized, I think that the overall tastes were combined very well.
The wonton soup was good but nothing spectacular while the spring rolls were very, very Chinese. I'm more used to Vietnamese spring rolls which makes sense since I'm Viet :-).
My entree was the filet mignon with haricot verts, maitake mushrooms, something that looked and tasted like three potato pierogies, and a red wine reduction. The green beans were somewhat heavily salted but I realize that this was both for taste, obviously, and for texture. I believe that they use sea salt. I was astonished at the amount of maitake mushrooms on my plate, since even with large/bulk purchases they can run sixty dollars a pound.
I recommend Yangming.
