We loved Range! We went on a Saturday night with no reservations. We got there and were told it would be an hour wait, but found 2 seats at the bar within 20 minutes and ate dinner there. The other patrons were friendly and bought us drinks, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. We ate the roasted asparagus salad, which was phenomenal. I had the halibut with cabbage and olive tapenade (buttery, smooth and yummy!) and my partner had the beef short ribs (so soft, tender, flavorful--perfectly cooked). They had a great wine/cocktail list. We were so full we didn't have room for desert! We had a gift certificate and the prices were so reasonable that the two of us ate for less than the amount of the certificate, and thus able to give the bartender/server a REALLY NICE tip. He deserved it! A definite new San Fran favorite!
