My wife and I shopped around for a wedding reception cake, went to several of the supposedly ""top notch"" bakeries in East Bay, and were disappointed. A co-worker recommended Schuberts. When we walked in, our first thought was ""Now THIS looks like a bakery"". We got a tiramisu that was a piece of art and delicious. The catering staff at our reception spot said it was the best looking one they've seen and better taste than the one they sometimes made themselves. Have since tried Schubert's Princess, Opera, Italian Rum, and a few others. Great stuff. Staff helpful and prices really good. Parking not so bad early Sat morn (they open at 7am).
