managers overbook their "priority list" 12/8/2006

I can't comment on the food because guess what, they never seated us. First off, their valet had half the parking lot coned off (and most of them were never used) and they're all sitting empty so I had to walk a mile to get there. Then we were told that even though we had called hours ago and were told we'd be on the "priority list", we'd have to wait a half hour...fair enough. After about an hour later of standing, the manager came out and said "i'm sorry, everybody who called in showed up so i don't think we can get you in today". If they were overbooked they should have just told us. So we're looking at other options, but as we're about to leave, she said they could make other arrangemnts but putting us on the patio upstairs and made us wait another half hour before telling us "no sorry...that's a fire hazard so sorry!". so by now it's over 2 hours we're standing there without an offer of a drink (party of 15 or so), or even a glass of water. Meanwhile we keep seeing everybody else walking in getting seats right away which was odd. They offered to put us in the walkway out in display and get free appetizers but it was too little too late. It's obvious because of their location they'll get enough people in to not care about customer service. We could have been very rude but we were patient trying to not ruin her night too. As we were leaving i heard a waitress tell the manager that another woman is demanding to have her wine comped and was being rude. That's the kind of customers they deserve- not nice ones. We took our business to another place down the street and got seated right away with great service. Oh, and she can keep her free coupon for a "free appetizer with the purchase of $12.99" for our troubles. that was just plain insulting. more
