I spent three weeks in Thailand and fell in love with authentic Thai food! Since traveling there, Thai food has become my favorite of all cusines. While the food from Bangkok 16 tastes ""thai"", it lacks the intensity of flavor I fell in love with. The tom yam gai was very bland - neither hot nor sour, and the chicken pieces were unedible (the leftover pieces from other chicken dishes, I presume - cartilage and such). Even in Thailand, they use thinly sliced white breast meat for this soup. This dish should be bursting with flavor, but sadly it tasted watery. I also ordered fresh imperial rolls, which are supposed to be wrapped in rice paper - instead thery were wrapped in a doughy flat bread (like you get at an etheopian place). The pad thai was dry and the noodles tasted pastey. The food rates slightly above average on my scale - I've had much worse Thai food in the city. They have fast, free delivery and overall it tasted fresh - just not very flavorful. There are definitely better Thai places (Marnee Thai, Ploy 2, Kon Toke, Thep Phanom) --- and worse for that matter.
