I see that Finale has gotten some negative reviews, and I'm sure that's bound to happen with a restaurant this popular and busy, but I've been many times and as someone who grew up in a family that owned a French bakery which produced gourmet pastries and cakes, Finale continues to impress me. The desserts have always been great - most recently the Boston Cream Pie with mini whoopie pies was a reinterpretation of the ingredients that was indulgent and satisfying. Yes, it is busy and crowded and can be loud. Yes, the servings are small, but if you want a LOT of dessert and to load up on calories and fat, then go somewhere else. If you want a good dessert that won't overwhelm you, go to Finale's. Just don't expect it to be cheap, but be assured you're paying for quality. Also, they have one of the more extensive lists of dessert wines that I've found anywhere, so that in itself is worth the trip for the dessert wine lover.
