After having read review after review on this salon called Utopia, I decided to schedule an appointment with Maritza for my color and highlights and Kenny Berk for my haircut. I was told that Kenny was off on the day that I chose my appointment, at that time I chose another stylist(I think he is the owner as well?) named Len. I was delighted with both! Martitza did an amazing job on my color and highlights and the cut that Len gave me is one of the best I have ever gotten! Thank you!!!! I love this salon! I do plan on going back and the nice thing about this salon is I feel confident that if a particular stylist or colorist is not available that everyone at the salon is so talented that they will hook you up with the right person. I did however find parking to be a bit of a challenge(but then again it is the December Holidays in Union Sqaure!) and there are plenty of parking garages around the area. All I can say is ...don't walk, but run to see these two amazing people, I know it says on the salon's web site about the color and cut team of Maritza and Kenny, but it is reassuring to me, to know that everyone appears to be extremely talented(which speaks about the salon!) Who knows maybe next time I will try Kenny for my haircut(hopefully on a day he is working!) but if not, then I know I have found a gem in Maritza and Len!
Pros: Skill, friendly people, warm inviting atmosphere! Nice artwork, Good music!
