Three years ago I traveled South America and discovered ceviche. I found Lima's Taste on the internet and gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised to find it's ceviche authentic and as good as what I had in south America. The Ceviche Tuna was spicy and tasty. My table also ordered the Ceviche Mixto--shrimp, squid, baby octopus and fish--truly delicious and refreshing. We smartly took the waiters advice and orderd with it the chicken causa--a mashed potato ball stuffed with chicken & avacado--and the grilled Cow Heart Anticucho. This was ironic because for a while I could of sworn they were playing Captain Beefheart on the stereo. The place is a little chaotic but the staff rolled wioth it and kept the service at an O.K. level. Two Pisco Sours later the loud crowd sounded like a chorus. The main courses were also fantastic. I had the Frederico Flintstona Ribs--best ribs I've ever eaten in New York. The waiter told me theres a special Peruvian basting sauce heay on ground up peppers that are only grown in Peru. The decor is truly stunning with odd juxtopisitions. A painting of The Last Supper with Jesus and his deciples in Panchos? A Clockwork Orange black & white still in a blue lit bathroom? The never ending parade of hustlers walking up and down Christopher Street? It's not just dinner, it's dinner and a show!! At 11P.M. with my table near the window, it really felt like ""Take a walk on the wild side."" Do to do to do to do to dotodo......
Pros: Food, Pisco Sours, rediculously entertainiong decor
Cons: Gawked to much at the weird show on Christopher Street
