I hope that this is an isolated incident. We visit Fado's late summer 2006. We had been there several years before and all was fine. However, this time was a real let down. We took friends from out of town - there were five of us all-together. The place was under construction, which they couldn't really help, but they seated us right next to it! We asked to move to the patio and the sat us right next to the outside construction. Everyone wanted fish and chips, but we were informed that they were all out of fish and chips! At an irish pub?? Then she came back and said they weren't out, but that the fish and chips were too frozen. She came back a third time and said they could do two orders of fish and chips. So I ended up ordering a chicken wrap. When the food came out the fish and chips were good, but the smallest portions I have ever seen! The "small" portion is one piece of fish! And not a large piece. My wrap was a shrimp wrap, which I pointed out to the waitress who by this time seemed not to like our table at all (I Hate shrimp, otherwise I would have just eaten the darn thing). So she takes mine back and I finally get my chicken wrap at the end of the meal. Everyone else was done. We did point this out and after some debating with her we did manage not to have to pay for the chicken wrap, because it was apparent that my entire table was finished eating when I finally got my food. However, she never apologized for anything. We were very disappointed and I doubt we'll go back again for anything other than a beer. The prices are okay, but for the portion sizes on the fish and chips, the prices are outrages. I think this place is very cool and I am glad to have a pub in downtown - so I truly hope this was an isolated incident and the restaurant was just having a bad day.
