McKendree is a very nice, small private institution. Housed in Lebanon, this is a small town with not a lot of 'college life.' However, it is only 30-40 minutes to downtown St. Louis, offering students lots of activities and internships. Faculty here is excellent...but students should be aware that it is a very small school where they will quickly know most everyone on campus. For many, this is a great benefit, but for those (like myself) looking to gain lots of new experiences at the college level, this was a real negative aspect of student life at McKendree. Edcuationally it is top-notch, but the small environment is not a perfect fit for all students.
