Went to Cafe Bizou for a Birthday dinner on a Saturday night. The experience started off bad with the valet line backing up into the street because of having only two valets. Next it took a while to get seated even though we had a reservation (for 5). Once we got seated eventually our waitress returned and took our drink order. We then waited 30 MINUTES to get our five drinks.
Eventually our waitress returned to take our order. Almost an hour later our food arrived with 2 of the 5 orders being incorrect. One of those were sent back and eventually came back correct. After all this, the food wasn't that good. Most of the attempts at flavor were just over powered by cheap sauces and took away the flavor of the actual meat/fish/lobster.
I later learned that this Cafe Bizou is NO LONGER affiliated with the highly reviewed Cafe Bizou restaurants in Pasadena and Sherman Oaks. The Santa Monica one was sold off and since then has just plummeted in quality and service.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Pros: Everything is under $25
Cons: Poor Valet Service, Poor Service, Food was over powered with bad sauces
