As of summer 2005, Spectrum at Rogers Ranch is the nicest health club in San Antonio. The equipment is great, personal TV on the Precor, indoor pool, outdoor pool with slide for kids. Lately, the equipment has been dirty (sweat puddles left under the machines for hours and hours! eww). The management tends to be completely unresponsive to complaints about equipment, policies, etc. So if you have a problem, don't waste your breath! Lately though, things have been getting better (which is probably b/c of competition moving in). The cost for a family is pricey ($193 per month) relative to other clubs, particularly its direct competition Lifetime Fitness -- a new club that is opening Dec 2005, nearby (281/Sonterra). Lifetime has all the ammenties of Spectrum, and more, for 1/2 the price. Many members are leaving Spectrum for Lifetime.
