I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but in this case I must. A previous salon dyed my hair black instead of dark brown and though I tried to accept it, I just looked and felt depressed. Two consultations at two other salons later told me that the process of going from black to a lighter colour would kill my hair, take forever, give me unnatural red highlights, and would also cost a fortune. But after hearing so many good things about a colour genius called Hugh McGuire at Les Amis 193, I made an appointment. It was nothing the other salons told me. It looks great, I feel great. You can tell when he's working on your hair, he knows a ton about colour. He's an expert, and that is why he definitely deserves the name, ""best colorist in SF.""
