I have had the unsurpassed joy of knowing and working with Sheila Dugan for nearly eight years (since I was twelve.) There are simply not enough superlatives to communicate her skills as teacher and vocal coach, both from technical and artistic standpoints. In 2004, three of twenty-four students accepted to study Musical Theatre at the University of Michigan (considered by many to be the best MT program in the nation) studied with Ms. Dugan. No other teacher in the program's history can make such a boast. The true value, however, of my lessons with Sheila is that I have gained not only a marvelous teacher but also a lifelong friend. Sheila is first and foremost an understanding, caring, and compassionate human being whose impact on my life stretches far beyond improving my vocal prowess. I am a better singer and, more importantly, a better person for having known this woman.
