The Bayou Wildlife Park in Alvin is a great place to visit. It's out in the country and they have a petting zoo where one can see goats, pigs, etc. close up. The main attraction is a tram ride through the park where animals such as buffalo, caribou, various kinds of deer, etc. will walk right up to the tram and you can feed them. Watch out for the ostriches, they're not shy about taking food!! It's a great place to take the kids.
