SF has many great Chinese restaurants that serves excellent food. However Ton Kiang is average at best, especially compared to the hundreds of chinese restaurants in the city. This restaurant would only be good out side of the bay area, however they are not. The prices for these dishes are also overpriced. The locals of SF do not understand the concept of expensive chinese food. If it is, then the ingredients must be very fresh and the place must be high class. This place does have excellent service and a good ambiance, which is what you're paying for. But if you're looking for great chinese food, and cheap, there are many just sitting on the same block.
