It's hard to beat the value and the feeling that you've stepped back to a time when patrons probably wore suits and dresses to dine at this legendary 1908 sandwich shop. About 8 of us recently arrived at Phillipes via the Metro and for ~$50 we all enjoyed the infamous french dip sandwiches, pickles, and sides. It's hard to beat that price! Definitely partake in the ultra spicy but delicious mustard. In case you think this place is only for meat eaters and sandwich lovers, even the vegetarian had options, the soup looked like it was worth a repeat visit, and the pecan pie caused quite a stir at our table.
