After reading reviews & browsing the CanoeClub website, I was excited and intrigued. The menu sounded interesting, decor looked beautiful and the idea of watching a ""shark feeding"" sounded great - I guess I set my expectations too high.
The main dining room is classy but casual, the bar area is open & airy. It was Wednesday night, and the place was busy but not crazy weekend busy and we were sat promptly. Our server was nice but forgetful. Food presentation was pleasing to the eye but the sauces were overpowering & they overcooked just about everything. The pineapple foccacia is a better Danish than a snack. The shark feeding wasn't much more exciting than feeding goldfish.
I was hoping for fresh flavors from the Pacific - but experienced a generic national chain bar & grill flavor. The Canoe Club is unfortunately nothing special ... it's simply average at best.
Pros: lots of parking, pretty dining room, nice bathroom
Cons: sauces too strong, pricey for quality, shark feeding lame
