I live down the block from this hole in the wall. Its an absolutely fanstastic place, VH1 would call it ""awesomely bad""- the manly stanly female bartenders when not being skanky and rude ignoring you behind the bar, are outside ignoring you while smoking. the customers are often bombed and the jukebox rocks. Its a pure drinking crowd, usually very friendly and cool, you can feel easily at home here with no ""soho"" bs. Be careful of the late night turn around- local vagrants are aware of the overserved, friendly factor and some weirdness insues...
